8 - 13th Street S. is and existing single story building housing retail tenants. The scope of work for this project is the build out for a new tenant requiring office and showroom space. The scope of work consists of the demolition and restoration of three previously existing door openings (2 overhead garage doors and 1 swinging man door) at the rear of the building, east facing elevation.  The openings will be reopened and infilled with new doors to match existing conditions.  Project architect Jim Ruckle will present the building elevations and site plan to show where the new openings will be.   Shea, Inc. will be attending this meeting on behalf of the building owners Lund Real Estate Holdings, LLC.   They are applying for a Certificate of Appropriateness with the City of Minneapolis.   This has been requested by CPED Preservation && Design staff due to modifications to the rear exterior of the building.

III.            7:10-7:40 p.m.            Loring Kitchen & Bar – Update from Oct. meeting

Philip Schliesman,  Licensing staff from the City of Minneapolis will be in attendance to answer questions and address some recent concerns raised.  Resident and adjacent neighbor would like CLPC to re-affirm its support for 1) monitoring noise 2) ensuring that the inner wall does not come down  3) CLPC’s stance on the utilization of outdoor space, and 4) definition of "nightclub"

IV. 7:40-8:00 p.m.  Loring Park Bike Future Improvements – Shaun Murphy, City of  Minneapolis

Shaun will present the timeline of the striping of 15th St. for bicycles, as well as a proposed project to enhance the crossing of bicyclers across 15th St./Oak Grove to the park and the striping of 15th for bicycle usage.   They are interested in creating a design team for this project, as well as utiltizing our Phase I NRP remaining bicycle funds of $14,319.39.

This project will also improve the bicycle/pedestrian entrance to Loring Park at the NE corner of the intersection of W. 15th St. and Lyndale Ave. for cyclists continuing through the Park connecting to Hennepin Ave., Harmon Pl. and Yale Pl. bike lanes. Separating bicycle and pedestrian paths at the Park entrance will greatly improve safety."

V. 7:50-8:00 p.m. Save Wesley Church – Deniz Kalayci, U of M Graduate student

Request to CLPC from “Friends of Wesley Church” for a letter of support for the preservation of the Wesley Church as a community-serving asset.   Methodist Convention is still considering to put the Wesley for sale on January. The U of M Design class graduate students, under Dr. Donofrio, are looking into assessing building demands, searching building issues, possible future groups that can use the building... everything to convince Methodist Convention to make the case more palatable for Wesley and the neighborhood.  They would like any and all kinds of help and recommendations during this work.
